[color=blue]As we put the last snake down we saw the red and blue lights through the window.

"Go, go,go," Devon yelled to us.

We ran to the closest door to make our escape. I could not get arrested again.

"f**k i left my bag," I said.

"Katie, you can't go back and get it," Kendra told me.

"You'll get caught," Ethan chimed in.

"Don't worry, I'll be OK. Just go!"

"I ran back to the classroom. If I left any evidence behind, we would all be caught. Right as soon as I grabbed the bag, the door of the room cam open and a couple flashlights shone in. I quickly ducked behind the desk being as quiet as possible.

"Where did they go?" a voice said.

"I have no clue, I think I saw something in here," another voice said.

"You under the desk, put your hands where I can see them," and office said.

I quickly stood up and dropped the bag to the ground. My heart was racing. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a snake slithering on the windowsill. The next thing I know, I was being pushed up against the blackboard being handcuffed and no not the dirty way.

"You have the right to remain silent, anything you do or say will be used against you in a court of law."

Man that line was getting really old.[/color]

"Are you Mrs. Sterling?" the officer asked my mom when we got to my house.

"Yeah what did Katie do now?"

"She put snakes all over the school for a senior prank. Now we know that there were more people involved but she won't say who."

"How much trouble is she in?"

"We will let the school handle it."

"Oh OK, thank you for bringing her home."

"Sure thing. Have a nice night ma'am."

When the officer left, I knew my mom was gonna let me have it. Her face was so red, it was like a ticking time bomb.

"Katie Marie Sterling!" my mom yelled.

"Yes?"

"I can't believe you would pull a stunt like that. You're about to graduate young lady and you're just gonna throw it away for some prank? You have been getting in a lot of trouble lately."

"I know mom."

I went and locked myself in my room for the rest of the night. But after a while my phone started ringing.

"Hello?"

"Katie!" Kendra said.

"Hey what's up?"

"What happened to you?"

"I got busted by the cops."

"Did you tell on us?"

"Yeah right, I'm not that type of person."

"OK, but I don't want you to take all the blame."

"It's OK. I'm fine."

"Thanks, well later."

After I talked to Mr. Judd the next day at school, he said that the school is not pressing charges. I have to do community service and I'm not allowed to walk at graduation. It doesn't really matter if I walk or not as long as I graduate. I was planning on just chillin over summer, but my mom has other plans. I have to go stay at my grandparents the whole summer. It's gonna suck, because they are really strict. I have to leave the day after the last day of school which is in 2 days.

After school I had to do my first hours of community service and what did I have to do but pick up trash on the side of the road. While I was picking up trash a car drove by and yelled and started throwing trash on the ground. They started speeding away but I threw a tin can, but of course it didn't hit them.

"Katie!" the officer yelled.

"What?"

"What the hell. You don't throw stuff. I can report you and you can go to jail for littering," he said while spitting out tobacco.

"Sorry."

As he walked away, I cursed under my breath. So there I was, picking up trash in my orange jumpsuit. My life was just fucking fantastic, but I am not a criminal.

My alarm clock woke me up from my deep slumber. Today was the day I would be going to Vegas. Oh Joy. I already told my friends good bye. I don't see why I was going. So what if I made one little mistake. My mom was being unfair, but maybe she's mad because I used to be a drug addict. Don't worry I'm not into that stuff anymore. I used to have a fighting and drinking too, but i went o rehab when I was a sophmore.

I got to the airport, but i didn't even say bye to my mom. I was still pissed.

"Bye honey," my mom said as she tried to kiss me.

I just grabbed my bags and searched for my flight. The guy that took my ticket has a really nice ass and no I wasn't looking.

I plugged in my headphones and just listened to music while this fat guy used my shoulder as a pillow. I kept trying to poke him, but he didn't stir. He better not drool. I would have to kick him in the shins if he does. The plane doesn't land till 9 in the afternoon so I had to get comfy.

When I got off the plane, I saw my grandparents waving frantically with their fake smile on. You know the ones where it's like we don't like you but we have to be nice since we're family kind of smiles. I get those a lot.

"Hi sweetheart," my grandma said happily to me.

"Hey," I replied.

"Let's go find your bags," my grandpa said.

It seemed like everybody was staring at me. What do I have tourist written on my forehead? When we got to the car, my grandma kept babbling on.

"Oh we will have to show you around. I think you will like your room. It's blue Do you like blue? Of course you do..."

I couldn't pay attention for long. I was trying to take in my surroundings. It was very different. In Indiana you mainly see farms and acres of land especially in Connersville. Here the houses are so close together. You wouldn't want to walk around your house naked.

"...Oh yeah and we'll have to introduce you to the Urie's," my grandmas said bringing me back to reality.

"Wait what?"

"The Urie's. They're our neighbors. They have a son about your age. He is very handsome."

"OK."

It couldn't be could it? maybe Urie is a common last name here?

"So I hope you don't mind your room being at the edn of the house. It's a long walk," my grandma continued.

God how long could she talk for?

"See that's the problem with children now a days. They don't walk that much anymore. That's why America is getting fat. Back in my day we had to walk miles to get to school, barefooted. I used to hop on the backs of trains and float down the Ohio river," my grandpa said.

Wow that's great to hear, my grandpa is a hobo.

"And this is your room," my grandma said.

"OK thanks. I think I'm gonna unpack."

"OK honey."

I got a test from Kendra. It said I already miss you. As I read this message, I realized how much I actually loved my town. I let a few tears fall as I texted her back. I'm going to unpack everything to try and keep my mind off things.

It had been a couple hours and i was bored as hell. My grandparents just went to bed and I really needed to leave this house. I put on a hoodie and climbed out my bedroom window. I'm on the second floor and I'm afraid of heights.

As I walked the streets of Summerlin, I just thought of everything. I walked further and further and soon I was downtown. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, so that's probably why I didn't see that group of guys.

"hey baby out here by yourself?" one guy asked me as the others circled around.

I just kept trying to go on by, but one of the guys grabbed me by my arms and would let me go.

"Can you talk?" another one said while grabbing my face.

I tried to kick him, but it didn't work out too well.

"Oh fiesty little b**ch."

"Shut the f**k up."

"What did you say?"

"Did you hear me or are you deaf?"

"Oooo are you going to let her talk to you like that Mikey?"

"Hell no let's go."

They started to drag me to an alley but I was trying to escape by kicking them. I heard sirens go off and this is the first time I'm happy to hear them. All the guys scattered, leaving me on the ground.

"Are you okay?" and officer asked.

"Yeah I think," I said still scared.

"Let's get you home."

My first time in Vegas and look what happens. This is going to be on interesting story to tell back home.

When we walked up the steps to my grandparents house, my heart was racing. I was scared shit less of what they were going to do since I left. It probably woke up the whole neighborhood, because the officer still had his lights on. When my grandmas came to the door you could definitely tell she had just waken up. She has curlers in and her robe was wrapped tightly around her.

"What the matter officer?' my grandmas asked giving me a stern look.

The officer told my grandmas everything. She wasn't that mad, but more scared. She'll probably end up putting blots on my window so I can't escape. But who could blame me for trying to leave this hell hole.

So I have many updates so I'm just going to go ahead and post them.

Chapter 5
I woke up the the smell of biscuits and gravy. Theres nothing better than my grandma's breakfast. I went down the stairs to find more people sitting at the table, including Brendon Urie.

"Katie this is the Urie's," my grandma said.

"Uh hi I'll be right back," I said before I ran upstairs to get changed.

I was in booty shorts and a tank top, so I don't think that's something my grandparents want me wearing when we have guests. I was so surprised to see Brendon down there. I was kinda freaking out but I gotta keep my cool so I don't look like a stupid teenie. I quickly changed into some jeans and a Queen t-shirt. I went back down and they were still eating. I grabbed a plate and sat between my grandpa and Mr. Urie. My grandma introduced me to everybody and Mrs. Urie kept asking me question after question.

"So what brings you to Summerlin?"

"Just visiting," I said not wanting to tell the truth.

"Are you going to go to college?"

"Yeah I'm going to go to Ball State in Muncie."

"That's what i like to hear. Not many people are going to college now a days. So what are you majoring in?"

I felt like a criminal when they are getting asked question at a police station. We need a big light in here to shine on me.

"Grace leave the girl alone," Mr. Urie said.

"It's OK," I told him.

"I want to go into optometry...maybe."

"That's a good field, I wanted Brendon to become a lawyer but he wanted to do the whole band thing."

"Mom, it's something I like to do," Brendon said.

"I know and it's OK honey."

"So maybe Brendon could show you around sometime," she said.

"Yeah I can if you want me to."

"OK that would be cool," I replied.

The rest of breakfast was pretty much boring. After the Urie's left, I ran to my room and jumped around. I turned on my cd player and turned on Thnks fr the mmrs. I was acting like a retard jumping around till I fell of my bed.

"What was that?" my grandpa yelled.

"Uh nothing, I just fell."

I have to call Kendra and tell her. She'll flip out too.


"Hello?" Kendra said.

"Hey guess what?"

"What?"

"I just talked to Brendon Urie!"

"What? how?"

"He's my Grandparents neighbor."

"Are you serious?!?"

"Yeah!"

"OH MY GOD!!!!" I heard her scream into the phone.

Maybe Vegas won't be so bad after all.





Chapter 6
Later that day i got extremely bored and decided to go out for a walk. I saw this little side road and decided to take it/ it led t a lake. I sat down by the edge and watched fish swimming around.

"Hey," a voice said behind me.

"Hey," I said turning around to find Brendon.

He sat down next to me and watched the fish too.

"I used to come up here with my family when I was little," he said.

"Oh really>"

"I remember this one time when I was like 10 some fish tried to eat my balls."

"Haha no way."

"Yeah but it didn't really hurt cause they have no teeth."

"That's such a great story to tell."

"I know."

"So what's the real reason why you are here?"

"What do you mean?"

"I know that you didn't come here on a visit. Who would stay at their grandparents over the summer?"

"So you wanna know the truth?"

"Yeah."

"Well I got caught putting snakes in my school for a senior prank and got busted by the cops. My mom sent me here so I wouldn't get into anymore trouble."

"That sucks."

"Yelp."

"Come with me," he said holding out his hand.

"Where are we going?"

"I still have to show you around."

"OK."

As we walked the streets of Summerlin, he showed me everything.

"There an awesome coffee shop, a dance studio, or and that's the flasher that lives next door," he said pointing to a guy with a trench coat on.

"Oh haha like in Hairspray?"

"No seriously he is a flasher."

"O-K," I said confused.

"Oh let's go into this music store," Brendon said running to the door.

"Omg Michael Jackson!" I screamed as I saw the 25th anniversary edition.

"What?" I said to this old lady who gave me a dirty look.

"Now don't go making people mad," Brendon said.

"Shut up."

"Oh sorry," Brendon said as he ran into somebody.

"Aren't you Brendon Urie from Panic at the disco?" the girl asked.

"Yeah I am."

"I told you," she told her group of friends.

Soon they were all asking for pictures and autographs. They were girls gawking in through the windows. People kept coming in.

"Well I got to go now," Brendon said after a while.

"No!" some girls said.

Brendon grabbed my hand and led me out the door. Everybody was following us.

"Is she your girlfriend?" one girl yelled.

"Come one," Brendon yelled to me as he started running.

We ran it seemed like forever. I was definitely out of shape.

"Are you always being chased by fans?" I asked when we got rid of them.

"Only on Fridays," he said laughing.


Chapter 7
This whole week me and Brendon have been hanging out non stop. He's become like one of my best friends. I really like him, but I'm not going to tell him that. I haven't told him about my past and I wasn't planning on telling him anything. He doesn't have to know everything.

"Hey Katie, time to wake up," my grandma said.

"Morning."

I noticed that my grandma wasn't smiling, it look like she had been crying.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Honey, something happened in Connersville."

"What happened?"

"Yesterday Matt got in a car accident...and he's gone," she said sobbing.

I just sat there frozen. How could this happen? No it must be a mistake right? Matt was more than my brother, he was like my best friend. Yeah he was kinda overprotective of me, but I loved him. But I did the only thing I could do...run.

I ran out of the house as fast as I could. The tears wouldn't quit falling. It was like somebody had ripped my heart out. It was pouring outside, so i probably looked stupid running in the rain. But I don't care, only thing I could think about was getting away. When something bad happens I always run away. That's how I deal with my problems. I got tired of running so I pulled up my hood and kept walking with my feet sinking in the wet grass. I walked to the lake. It was a place to just get away and think. I sat there for a while, just staring at my feet. I tried to think of all the good times me and Matt shared. But the more I thought about it, the more I cried.

I felt a pair of arms grab me and pull me to his chest. I didn't even look up, but just kept sobbing into him.

"Shhh Shhh. It's gonna be OK," he said.

"No it's not. He's gone and never coming back."

"Yeah but you know he cared about you."

"Yeah I know, but I just wish I could've talk to him before."

"He knows that you love him. Don't worry everything will turn out OK"

"Thanks Bren you're a great friend," I said hugging him.

When I got back to the house, I immediately went to my room and locked the door. I didn't want to talk to anybody. I took out and old photo album and skimmed through it. We looked so happy back then. Just one big happy family. I came across on old school picture of Matt.

"See you soon Matt," I whispered.

I went into my bathroom and grabbed the bottle of tylenol. I downed some pills and waited. The next thing I knew, everything went black. Why do all good things come to an end...?

"Katie? Katie?" a voice said.

"Matt?" I said as the body came closer.

"Where am I?" I asked as I looked around and saw i was hooked up to machines.

"You're in a hospital. You gave us all a scare."

"Why did you have to go?" I said with tears in my eyes.

"I got drunk at a party and I drove home."

"Why did you do that? You are so stupid. You left be all by myself."

"No I didn't. You still have Mom, Dad, and Chris. Not to mention your friends and Grandma and Grandpa. A lot of people care about you. Don't make the mistake OK?"

"Oh like you did?"

"Yeah,but just because I did something stupid doesn't mean you have to."

"I'm gonna miss you Matt. I love you," I said as I gave him a hug.

"I love you too, but I have to go. So take care of yourself and don't do anything else stupid," he said as he kissed my forehead.

"I won't," I said crying as I watched him disappear.

I woke up to the sound of beeping. I looked around and saw my grandma and grandpa sitting in a chair. My grandma finally looked up and saw that I was awake.

"Katie! Honey don't you ever do that again," she said crying on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"Jerry, Jerry get your ass up," my grandma said.

"Oh hi Kate your awake?"

My grandma just kept hugging me over and over again. I felt so bad for scaring her like that, but I couldn't take it anymore.

"Did you tell mom?"

"yeah but she couldn't make the flight because she has to work. But she sends her love."

"Oh wow. How nice to choose work over your own daughter."

"Honey, she's really depressed right now about Matt, give her some time."

"OK."

As I said that, Mr. Urie, Mrs. Urie, and Brendon walked in.

"How are you honey?" Mrs. Urie asked.

"I'm fine now. You didn't have to come visit me."

"But we wanted to young lady," Mr. Urie said.

"OK well thanks then."

"Do you know where any coffee s?" my grandpa asked.

"yeah I saw one, come on I'll show you," my grandma replied.

"Coffee does sound good." Mrs. Urie chimed in.

Everybody left leaving me and Brendon alone in the room/ He wasn't saying anything just staring at his shoes.

"Why did you do that?" he asked still looking at his shoes.

"I don't know I was just overwhelmed by everything I guess."

"I was s worried," he said sitting on the bed.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I don't know what I would do without you," he said as he cupped my cheek in his hand.

He looked deep in my eyes as I looked into his. I thought he was going to kiss me, but he just kissed my cheek instead. I was sad but oh well, maybe I can try later.

"So are you OK now?"

"Yeah, Matt helped me out," I said smiling.
