“WHOA! YOU’RE FUCKING HUGE!” Lauren said as I greeted her at the door to my apartment. “How many months has it been now?”

“Oh, honing in on the 9… How was tour?”

Lauren had fallen in love with a kid you might know. He goes by the name of Pete Wentz. I think you may have heard of him?

Anyway, she was on tour with him for the past 3 months.

“BADASS! s*x kind of sucked though. I mean in those tiny bunks… the bathroom was better.”

I laughed. “Just make sure you wrap it before you tap it so you don’t end up like this,” I said, pointing to my giant stomach.
“Yeah, that would SUCK.”
“Pretty much. The thing kicks like a b**ch and I can’t see my fucking feet. Oh, and I can’t sleep on my stomach anymore. Well, I could. But I’d be like a fucking teeter-todder.”

“Hey, after you have 2 kids and you’re pregnant again, they can use you for entertainment!” She laughed.
“Haha that’d be bitchin’. I really hope I never ever get knocked up again. I can’t do anything. Heartburn, kicking. This kid has been fucking camping out up by my rib cage for the past week. I tried pushing it down, too.”

“Oh man. Sucks for you. Remind me why you’re avoiding Ryan again? He keeps calling me…”
“He doesn’t know I’m prego.”
“Oh yeah I know that. But what’s your point of not telling him again?”
“I don’t want him to have to worry about making ends meet. And he was only staying with me because I was pregnant. I mean the second I told him it had no heartbeat, he was all like ‘this isn’t working’ blah, blah, blahhhh.”

“Yeah, that just gets stupider and stupider every time I hear you say it.”
“Ah, f**k you. It’s legit to me.”
“Yeah, well he’s kind of… you know… outside…”
“WHAT?!”
“He wants to come up, but I told him you weren’t here. And I also said that I was apartment sitting for you while you were on a business trip…”
“Oh, you’re good. Thanks soooo much,” I smiled, hugging Lauren.

My ginormous belly got in the way, but it was all good.

“Hey baby, baby boyy,” Allison smiled hugging me.
“Hey, babe. I missed you so much.”

“Me too. I missed your kisses and your smell…”
“How’s the planning going?” I asked her.

“Pretty good. I’ve got the colours picked out and everything. All we have to do is the invitations,” she smiled.

“Amazing,” I smiled back.
“You know that old friend you had? Springs something or other?”
“Yeah, Lily Springs…” I sighed. Her name rolled so sweetly off my tongue.
“Right her. Do you want to invite her?”

“Honey, we’re not getting married for a couple of years because of the tour, isn’t it a little early for invitations?”
“Ryan, don’t avoid the question.”
“Yeah, I’d like her to be there. She was my best friend after all…”

“I’m just planning ahead of time. I miss you so much when you’re away, baby.”
“I miss you so much too. I miss telling you how much I love you, and how much I need you in my life. I love you, darling,” I smiled.

I couldn’t be happier.
Well, maybe I could. Maybe if I was marrying a different girl. I was almost 23 now, and I had to settle for something. Allison was damn near perfect.

But that’s the thing, she wasn’t completely perfect, like this one girl I used to know…
