so someone talked to jon about the breakup and he said it wasn't on good terms

Jon said that Brendon and Spencer lied about them still being friends and talking to them, because they definitely weren't friends, and other than the tweets, there was no other contact, and they weren't on good terms, and Jon said that he knew it made Jon and Ryan look like assholes, and they should've been more upfront about it. I was asking why they couldn't have told people, and he was like, well, what can we do now? And, he was like, well, I hope the music will speak for themselves, and that Brendon and Spencer's third album will also speak for how well their doing.
He also did say that he did miss Brendon and Spencer, and the songs they played. I'm not sure I'm forgetting anything, but that's basically it.
BTW; all I did was ask Jon why they broke up, and he told me, so if anyone else is going, you can verify it.

It may not have been on the best of terms, but they obviously talked it over and decided that Spencer and Brendon could keep the 'Panic!at the Disco' name. I'm sure they had to work out the compensation as well. Ryan and Jon probably decided that they didn't want to do the Panic songs anymore since their style changed so much and Brendon and Spencer still wanted to. I don't know for sure, but I don't see why else they would make that kind of split. It's a shame he said it wasn't on good terms, but I'm not surprised at all.

I think they talked it out because there hasn't been a lawsuit. That's my reasoning. If Brendon and Spencer just took the Panic name and all of the songs without talking things out and settling an agreement, they'd be going to court over it.

alright, i see where you're coming from. and i know this might not be true, but i think it's convincing, and imo they might have taken the name and jon and ryan just didn't care enough to sue.
