Who hear likes musicals? What is your favourite part of them? The story? Staging? Music? Whats your favourite one? Basically, just discuss musicals XD

Though I have not seen it yet 'Avenue Q' is by far my favourite musical. I just love the lyrics and characters. Especially Trekkie Monster. I do the best impression of him though I can only do it for a short time.

I can't wait for tonight because I finally get to see Wicked. I love the music from it and cannot wait to see the differences in storyline from the novel.

PS I don't know if this belongs in this section Very Happy

Yeah, I think it fits in fine here.

I haven't seen too too many musicals, but (as cheesy as it sounds) my favourite musical is Phantom of the Opera. Everyone seems to like it best, but I'm not conforming. I love the music. I saw it live and it was amazing. =)
I must say, I'm a sucker for Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. I would love to see the Technicoloured Dream Coat on Broadway someday.

Yeah I agree. His stuff is quite good. Except 'Cats.' It just scares me. XD Everytime I think of that musical I picture Peter Griffin running over one of the cast. Anyway, I like the rock influence that is present in the majority of his works.

I guess I should post what I thought of 'Wicked.' The vocals were OK (Elphaba sounded very country), it was funny, and for my tastes the ending was a little too happy. I prefer the more satirical version of the story found in Gregory Maguire's novel of the same title. Still really worth it though.

It sounded really good from what I heard. Wish I could've seen it.

Cats is cool! (But I laugh whenever I think of Peter Griffin running over the cat) My mom dragged my dad to see it years ago and loved it! I wouldn't mind seeing it one day.
What's so creepy about it, though?

I love musicals!
My favorites are Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, A Chorus Line, and being in Quilters was fun but I haven't seen it. I also liked being in The Music Man. Wicked was really good but not as good as the others. And Sweeney Todd was weird. They had the actors with instruments onstage and a girl playing a guy part. Plus his barber chair was a little white coffin.

Our school is doing the musical 'Annie'. Somebody please shoot me. Arrrgghhh...I at least wanted an interesting one! Why couldn't they choose an interesting one?

Like Avenue Q or RHPS! If only it didn't need to be family friendly.

I just wish they'd do some Andrew Lloyd Webber. I know it would be hard to pull off, and maybe expensive, but it would be sooooo amazing.

Oh ya definitely. Maybe then I would get the chance to be in the orchestra for it too.

Yeah. That would be soooo cool. But with our equipment, those are the kind of shows we should do. Not Annie. That takes not real talent and equipment. You could do Annie with rags and cardboard.

Honestly. At least 'Wizard of Oz' required some work from our amazing techies. I feel sorry for them having to sit through all the dress rehearsals for the show XD
