Earlier today, Panic were on BBC Radio 1 with Jo Whiley.
They discuss the exclamation mark amongst other things such as the making of the album.
They perform Nine in the Afternoon live and then their cover of Valerie.
It's a nice little interview - here's the link (it is currently on the BBC iplayer so you have to fast forward it by about 2 hours and 5 minutes - Panic are introduced at about 2hours 9minutes)
