alright, here goes nothing before I leave them comp;
in some weird way it just maked me happy.
____________________________________________________________________________
Walls were closing in on her, for real. Ok, not for real, but it sure as hell felt like it. No lights were lit in her room, and she didn't care about turning them on either. Saturdays usually signifies having fun, hanging out with friends, not caring about what goes wrong in life. Gwen couldn't do anything of that. Her brother had been in and out of her room, fetching something, without noticing, or simply ignoring the sounds of whimpering from his older sister, who lay on her bed. Usually, she would bring all her problems and sadness to her mother, but this time she was too stubborn to do so. She was convinced she would make this herself, without anyone.
Who was she kidding? Of course she didn't want to be alone. But who was there? Everyone had plans, even problems, of their own. Even those of her friends she called close seemed out of reach just this day. When she realized she actually had a text message waiting on her cell phone she was utterly shocked.
"Come chill with me at the lake? Band practise just ended," she read out loud to herself. "Yeah, right."
She answered slowly that she wasn't really in the mood for anything, and got a reply back pretty quick.
"I don't care. If you don't show up, I'll crash you house (y'know like a wedding crasher does at weddings, whatever,) so you haven't got a choice." For once this day she felt some kind of happiness, like you most probably would feel if someone really wanted to be with you. She didn't care to answer, but wiped away the traces of tears from her face with her bed sheets. Pretty for an evening out, or not. She looked like shit, most possibly because of her dirty hair and tired face.
It was a perfectly nice spring-evening in Summelin, no wind at all. She couldn't understand why she felt the way she felt when it was her favourite weather outside. Why would everything seem so perfect the evening it surely wasn’t?
Anyhow, with her bike, she took the slowest road she could possibly think of to get to the lake. It wasn’t easy; it was practically downhill all the way. By the water there was a small cabin, or it usually just functioned as a roof, in emergencies. You went to this place only if the weather was extraordinary fine, as it was this evening. She could spot Brendon from far away, just standing by the water, hands in his pockets. She just wondered for a second why he was dressed up so nice, with a jacket and everything.
It would be a perfect opportunity for her to scare the living shit out of him, as he had done to her before. Guess what? She didn’t do it. She just walked up beside him, acting cold, saying nothing, and just staring over the lake without anything to rest her eyes on.
He didn’t say anything. Why didn’t he say anything? He would always say something, even if it only was a comment. He didn’t even bother to say ‘hey’, or ‘how are you?’, like he always would’ve. She didn’t care, but why did he want her to come out to this place if he was gonna be just as cold as she was.
Brendon was smart. He knew that if he asked her something, she was just going to act all normal, like she always did. He knew she thought her problems weren’t as important as others were; therefore she never laid them on anyone, just kept them to her. He knew that if he let time pass, eventually she would give in to herself, and just let everything go.
This was pure torture for Gwen. Even though she stood beside her best friend, she felt lonelier than she’d ever been. Heavy breaths kept her from remaining calm, and she felt all of the tears welling up. Why wouldn’t he talk to her, after all this time? She bent down to her knees and stared on the gravel, silent tears falling. Finally he showed some kind of sympathy, bending down beside her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
His touch made her lose it all. She started to cry hysterically and lose balance of her feet. To be honest, Brendon wasn’t really ready for her to get so emotional, but he really did the best he could of the situation. She grasped for his jacket, panicking just slightly. Only three people had seen her like this in some kind of situation; her mother, father and Betty. He sat down beside her, holding a firm grip around her body meanwhile. She cried, and cried, almost until there was nothing left to let out.
She managed to get a grip of herself, finally. When she looked up she couldn’t really tell if Brendon looked pleased or worried, or maybe a mix of both. She noticed something she hadn’t thought about before; he wasn’t wearing any glasses.
“When did you become superman?”
“Since I saw that look you had when you walked up and realized something was wro-,”
“I’m talking about the lost glasses.”
“Oh, lenses, y’know. Glasses are old, and for dorks only.”
“You are and will always be a dork, even when you become famous, dear.”
“Get the f**k off of my dropped glasses now. You don’t think you can come here, cry your eyes out, and expect me to forget about it merely seconds after. You’re gonna tell me right now what’s up.”
“You haven’t noticed how messed up everything is around us? For example, Betty made me realize I was stupid to think about us as this thing called ‘gang’. We’re just different people, with different relationships, that seem to get along pretty well. Whatever, we can have our ups and downs.”
“And that’s all?”
“No.”
“You can’t leave until you-know-what…”
“Alright, I guess I feel pretty lonely, or as a matter of fact, so lonely I sometimes don’t know what to do with myself.”
“Ah, been there, done that.”
“Are you accusing me of being some kind of wuss? Because I can actually leave whenever I want, even though you might not think that…” She made an effort to get up, but Brendon was actually stronger than he sometimes looked, and pulled her down in between his legs again. “Fail.”
“Mhm, but about that lonely-feeling, is it all the time, or just now and then?”
“I think it’s actually all the time, I just forget it, but then realize it again. Oh, I’m so fucked up, Bren.”
“Honeypie, you’re not fucked up. Guys are just afraid of talking to you, because they’re stunned by your enchanting beauty, your sparkling hair, your dreamy eyes, your eyelashes dark as night itse-.”
“Brendon Urie, that doesn’t really help.”
“I know, I know.” He laughed and kissed the top of her head. “I’m just saying it will come, for you and for me. We’ll just have to keep our spirit up.”
“I really hate you for saying that, ‘cause you’re not the first. But that is the truth; I just can’t get it in. I’m the negative person, y’know.”
“You can be negative, and I can be positive. We’ll be like ying and yang, sister,” she shrieked, over-enthusiastic, but probably just a try to get her to laugh just a little bit.
“Bren…”
“Mhm?”
“I appreciate you for doing this, y’know giving me a break… and everything. Ah, I really suck at praising people.”
“It’s alright, cupcake, I get it. I know you have my back too.”
“I guess I won’t be seeing you very much after this…”
“I know, that’s one of the things that sucks with this ‘music is my life’-thing, but we’ve got school and shit.”
“Don’t bail out on me there.”
“How could I bail out on my little cheesecake?” |

| y'know what, I have this crazy idea of a picture, or a drawing you would say, of them sitting by the lake. I know that it would look so awesome, and I've got it so clear in my head. if my friends doesn't give me that when I turn 18 I don't know what I'll do. |

tada;
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Summer moved closer towards them all, and they could feel it. The tension in the halls of Palo Verde was very, very noticeable. Important school projects had to be done before the deadline, or else you would be in trouble. Gwen noticed Brendon had serious difficulties with focusing, and she knew what it pretty much was based on. She did her best to make him follow in class, and wouldn’t hesitate to slap him over the head if he dozed off.
Sammy showed it as well, in her hair. She’d mixed some kind of blond, with red locks of hair, and it looked pretty awesome.
“I’ll probably just make it all red tonight.”
“What? Why? You’ve just had it for one day, and you’re tired of it already?” Gwen said, with a shocked expression.
“My mum wasn’t a big fan of it,” Sammy said and shook her head, “she’s even going to pay for the hair color, but hey, it’s free hair color.”
“Okay, but are you going to do it all by yourself?”
“No, Ahlyssa have promised to help out, and I’m gonna do some magic with her hair as well, ‘cause Jo’s got some awesome hair colors at her place. You should do something too.”
“Jo as in Jolene?”
“Yes, your black friend.”
“So, what’s up with you two?”
“If she just could get her head out of the box and ask me to be hers, it would totally be on. I’m just waiting.”
Gwen nodded and looked at the clock. Sammy would be gone in a couple of minutes, and she would probably be replaced with either Brendon or Betty, whoever came first. Betty didn’t attend to the same high school as Gwen, but she had the day off for some reason and would stop by for a while.
“Oh, holy hell. By the way, listen to this, before I have to go.” Sammy reached over her ear phones to her mp3 and pressed play when she saw that Gwen looked ready. First there was some piano intro, and drums and bass joined in and she heard Sammy’s voice sing.
Close your eyes wide open, tell a lie that no one hears
And no one really cares about the girl,
That is standing in the rain without a name,
just standing in the rain without a name.
Mrs Skeleton, she’s perfect, can’t you see?
You all want to be somebody like her.
Hasn’t eaten for a week but she looks great
So why concerned?
All she’s looking for is you.
But just give her some pills and everything will turn out fine.
Just lock her in a room where no one cares for her,
Because you don’t want to deal with it,
No you don’t want to deal with it.
Walk away, still present, paint a picture no one sees.
That is kind of useless like the boy
That is standing in the rain without a name,
Just standing in the rain without a name.
High school sweetheart, he gets every girl he sees,
He passes the testes, he wins the games, he wins the hearts,
But when the sun goes down, the moon takes place,
The voices scream out loud, they tear him down, tear him apart.
They make him someone that he’s not.
All he’s looking for is you.
But just give him some pills and everything will turn out fine.
Just lock him in a room where no one cares for him.
Because you don’t want to deal with it,
No you don’t want to deal with it.
Look away, still watching, and hope to God that no one knows,
And no one really saw the girl
that was lying in the rain without a name,
just lying in the rain without a name.
Miss Jane Doe, oh no one knows about the start,
But everybody knows the ending.
From a US suburb, she was only eight
When everything just started to go all wrong.
When everyone just started to do her wrong.
You tried to give her some pills but see, nothing turned out fine.
You tried to lock away the guilty but he walked.
You really didn’t change a thing,
But who cares about the beginning if you’ve read the end?
So you just tried to walk away.
All she needed was you love.
Gwen zoned out just for a moment after the song had ended. Sammy pulled out the earphones and looked like she was waiting for a reaction.
“That was… totally… fucking… awesome,” Gwen said, still like in trance, “I think personally that’s the best damn thing you’ve ever written.”
“Seriously?”
“Totally.”
No one really noticed how it happened, but Brendon had sat himself down a spot beside the two girls. The dude looked pretty exhausted.
“New hair color, Samantha?” he asked and pointed towards her head.
“Wow, you noticed, I really didn’t think that was possible for guys like you.”
“I can probably act more feminine than you’ve ever had.”
“Bren, listen to this,” Gwen said quickly and snatched Sammy’s mp3 from her. Sammy didn’t really complain, but happy was something she wasn’t. Brendon plugged it into his ear and listened for two minutes or so and then looked at Sammy.
“Y’know, this is actually pretty good.”
“Pretty good? Just pretty good? It isn’t excellent or awesome?”
“I’m telling you I like it a lot; don’t go all gloomy on me, dear.” She snatched back the mp3 and put it in a pocket and walked away without saying anything. “Oh my God, she really doesn’t like me at all.”
“She’s just feeling all of the sexual tensio-.” Before she could finish the sentence she had a Betty over her on the floor. “Oh, my fucking back. Thanks, thanks a lot, Bets!”
“I’m sorry; I just haven’t seen you for a whole week.”
“A week? You sleep at my house every night, how’s that not for a whole week?”
“But I mean, I’ve spent every evening with Jacoby, and I come back late, say goodnight to you, and then I’m off in the morning, that’s what I call not for a whole week.”
“How are things with that Jacoby-dude?” Brendon snuck in, with an innocent smile on his face.
“You will not have the permission to steal this boy, Brendon Boyd!”
“Are you accusing me of being gay?” Brendon said and looked utterly shocked.
“Well, no, but… I know you, baby.”
“Alright, you’ll have him all for yourself, but this is the only time.”
“Oh, you know what, I have a feeling it’s going to be a long time.”

I'm so tired right now, but you'll get your update. this one is dedicated to everyone actually reading this shit;
________________________________________________________________________________
"Talk to me, baby." Betty literally dragged Gwen into a corner of the hall, for a little more private conversation. Another reason was that things were starting to look a little bit awkward in the corridor. Betty had surprised them all with bringing Jacoby to the school as well and Brendon had quickly taken initiative to bond a little bit. Well, they sure were bonding, Brendon sitting in Jacoby's lap, Jacoby didn't protest at all. "How are you holding up? I talked to Brendon like yesterday, and he said that he hadn't had time to really check in on you, but I have right now. Is it better or worse?"
"It's... actually a lot better. But I suppose you can't believe me since I bet Brendon told you exactly what happened this weekend, and it would be impossible for me to recover in such short notice, but something happened."
"What happened?"
"Jeremy happened."
"Oh, what have our little genius done now?"
"In some weird way he found out that I felt like shit, and texted me a part of a lyric, and you can't imagine how fucking happy he made me."
"What did the text say?"
"Mary, you shouldn't let them make you mad. You are the best you can. And Mary, after all the pain is gone, I'm always gonna live to be your man."
"Ah, Scissor Sisters, but that's so sweet, and that's so Jeremy."
"I know. He basically made me cry out of happiness, and I haven't cried because of joy since my sister gave birth. Anyhow, if I'm lucky we'll just have an evening together, to catch up on everything. It made me realize how much I miss being with him."
"Yeah, y'know, I really think they should sell Jeremy on pills, or something, he'd work great for that."
"I bet. Ah well, it was just some sort of alarm clock. Oh my God, I love him so, he's like the little brother I never had."
"Gwen, you have a little brother, remember George?"
"Oh, but, he's like the caring little brother I never had?"
"Alright, I'll buy that. But it sounds awesome to hear you're feeling better, but you should fill Brendon in on that too. He's already having a hard time with the band and demo, and at the same time he's going around and is worried about how you're doing."
"Oh f**k, I just took him for granted I have to stop doing that, seriously. I'm gonna talk to him as soon as I'm alone with him, don't worry."
"Great, but, now I'm starting to get worried for my possible boyfriend." Betty looked left and raised her eyebrow. Brendon was at the moment studying Jacoby's beard growth. The guy had a lot of it. Sadly, if there was something Brendon lacked respect for, then it was a person's personal zone. "Brendon Boyd Urie, what the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Are you serious about being the second one today calling me by my middle name?"
"I'm totally fucking serious."
"I'm just checking out this guy's beard. He's got a lot of facial hair." Jacoby looked kind of embarrassed by them talking about him in that, and blushed just a little, not too noticeable.
"Study his beard, you can do, but you don't have to act all gay while doing it?"
"And what if I like it?" Jacoby added out of nowhere, leaving a shocked expression on Betty's face.
"Well then, I just thought it might scare you away, but since you're accepting it, I'm just gonna go ahead ignore it."
Brendon looked pleased just because of the fact that he had won some sort of battle against Betty, which of course was no battle at all.To make it up to her he simply patted her on the head again, it had kind of started to become their 'thing'. She wasn't bitter, she just put up a show. Suddenly it struck her.
"Jesus, Urie, it's your birthday next week! And mine is this weekend, we're growing older!"
"Yeah yeah, and soon we're gonna be Grey and hairy." He quickly looked at Jacoby. "No offense."
"None taken," Jacoby said, though looking confused.
"But what are you going to do on your birthday then?" Betty asked.
"I don't know. I never made a big deal out of it. But yeah, we're gonna get an awesome visit, and it might be next Monday, which means the day before my birthday. And if things turns out the way we want them to turn out, then we're gonna party like it's 1966."
"Who's gonna come by?" Gwen asked, feeling she had to come into the conversation somehow.
"I'm not sure if I wanna tell you, because you might kill me because I've forgotten to tell you about it earlier."
"We're not gonna kill you."
"Well, do you remember what I told you guys about the band last week?"
"Yeah," both Gwen and Betty said in unison.
"Ryan getting in contact with that Fall Out Boy-dude actually payed off, and...he's coming out next week to hear us play, so we're working like mad with everything." Gwen didn't really know what to say. She'd heard some of their songs, knew their names and knew that the bassist had a record label. Betty's jaw had dropped though.
"Do you realize this could be your big break?"
"I'm still not sure if we're ready for it. I mean; I sure as hell ain't a great live-singer yet. But I have to admit that it would beyond all of my dreams to get signed."
"Then you can make a kick ass record, and get loads of hater and lovers across the country!"
"I love how you put the haters first." He smirked and squinted his eyes.
"Okay, we'll say like this, if you don't get signed, we'll just sit home and drink tea and chit chat, but if you do get signed, we'll party like it's 1966?"
"You're on!" |
