I'm so glad I have you <3.
y get a chapter, mostly because I'm bored and working on another on number 12. I had to have a decent cliffhanger at some time.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
The day after was precisely how Gwen thought it could be. She could barely keep her eyes open during the few lessons they had that day. Brendon, on the other hand, had too much energy for his own good; even the teachers could notice that. He insisted to start debates about homosexuality, with those who were pro on one side and those who felt the opposite on the other. Gwen clearly made the statement that this was the worst idea he had even had, because of the possible bickering that would haunt them throughout the lessons for the rest of the day. Brendon didn’t care at all, and pressed every single one of Gwen’s nerves that he could think of. She suddenly realised the lesson was only seconds away from an end, and felt a huge relief when the bell rang. Well out in the corridor she saw Jolene standing by her locker.
“Jolly!” she shrieked.
“Okay, we seriously have got to talk about nicknames. ‘Jolly’ just doesn’t cut if for me, you see. You have to think about something better than that.”
“Uh, sausage?”
“Sausage?! You have sausages for fingers!” Gwen looked down at her fingers and went silence for just a few seconds.
“Well… I guess that’s true.”
“Relax, racist, you don’t have sausage-fingers, I’m just making fun of you.”
“I got to sleep ten minutes tonight because of Brendon basically slapping me in the face if I even dared to think about falling asleep. Don’t you think he literally poured coffee in me? And he won’t leave me alone today…” She was on the edge of being slightly irritated. That was worse enough, of what Jolene had heard of from a guy in her year. Jolene calmly put her arm around Gwen and smiled.
“You’re so gay.”
“I kno--,”
“Oh, did you hear about Squirly? And that guy?”
“You mean I missed something during this night? Seriously? What about them?”
“You can ask her yourself, I don’t have time now. Stay black.” And so, Jolene was gone, though quickly replaced by none other than Sammy with Everlyn on her side. They both had a sneaky look upon their faces.
“Tell me, tell me, tell me.”
“You remember Zachary, don’t you?” Everlyn asked.
“Of course I do, why wouldn’t I?”
“Let us just put it this way; it’s on.” Gwen looked like a question mark, not really understanding the message behind Everlyn’s sentence. Sammy rolled her eyes and grabbed Gwen’s shoulders.
“It’s on, official, they’re almost married, and if you haven’t got it yet; they have s*x.” Everlyn snatched and looked embarrassed by Sammy’s words. Gwen suddenly looked less confused and more pleased.
“Congratulations! Awesome!” she said and hugged Everlyn tightly.
“Thank you, it feels great,” she said with her charming British accent.
“And while we’re talking about s*x; how was your night with Brendon?” Sammy put in.
“You’re making it sound so, so wrong. And I’ve slept ten minutes.”
“Oh, busy teenagers nowadays. But it’s not like you can deny that there’s something going on between you two.”
“Sure I can deny it.”
“Nu-huh.”
“Uh-huh. You can’t win anything from this.”
“Yup, it would prove I was right.” Gwen tried to ignore what Sammy wanted to state. To her, it felt like impossibility to accept such a thing. They were just meant to be great friends.
“You know what, whatever, are we still on for tonight?”
“If you want us to be, honey, are 7 alright?” Gwen gave her two thumbs up while walking backwards away from them. 7 tonight meant that she could laugh and not care if she was tired or not. They would go to their favourite hangout, a fast food place in Summerlin, which they’d started to call their own.
“Gee!” She sighed and turned around to find Brendon standing there with his arms crossed. “You have no right to leave me like that.”
“It’s not like I’m the only person you talk to around us.”
“Oh yeah, today it is, because everyone else have a problem with me being so hyperactive, and you’re the only one I can torture without feeling bad about it.”
“I feel so special. Are you coming with us tonight?”
“Can’t, band practice.”
“Never mind then.”
The day ended quicker than any of them could expect, and suddenly the time was five to 7 and Gwen knew she was going to be late, but only ten minutes if she was lucky. When she got there she was a little surprised to be the first to arrive. The guy who stood behind the desk just smiled toward her politely; the gang was there pretty often.
“f**k,” she whispered when she realised she’d forgotten her cell phone at home. There was not much she could do about it. Sammy and Jolene came walking through the door five minutes later, and after them came Ahlyssa, hand in hand with Elliot. To Gwen’s relief, Lily came too. Everything went on smoothly, except the fact that the food took some time to get ready. No one complained though, they had a nice time anyway. Their conversations always got derailed, turned into nasty suggestions, but got on track after a while.
Around half past eight Gwen decided that it was time to go home, and go to bed. It was almost like a miracle that she didn’t steer down in some kind of ditch, but got home, exhausted.
She looked at her cell phone which had been lying on the bedside table. To her surprise, there was like twelve missed calls. There was one from her father, one from Brendon, two from Sammy and… eight missed calls from Betty. Her errand must have been important. She dialled Betty’s number and put the phone to her ear. It kept ringing on the other side, but no one would answer. She tried again, and this time, after six beep’s, Betty’s voice was heard on the other end. Something was definitely wrong.
“Something must have been very important for you to call me so many times,” Gwen said.
“Oh my God, he’s never been like this before.” Betty sounded petrified, and pretty shaken up.
“What are you talking about?”
“I mean, he drinks a lot, but it never turns out so bad, especially not like this.” Gwen didn’t like what she heard her friend say at all.
“Is it your dad?” Betty didn’t answer her. Gwen just heard her taking heavy breaths, like she was listening for something. “Bets, answer me.”
“f**k,” Betty whispered, “he’s coming again.” Before Gwen had any time to answer, the line went dead. In panic, she tried to call back again, but the phone was turned off. Without thinking she rushed down the stairs to the outer door.
“Mom!?” she shrieked, still in panic.
“Yes, sweetie,” her mother answered. Gwen was shocked that she could stay so calm, while something terrible was happening, but her mother didn’t know anything about that, just in Gwen’s mind.
“You have got to call the cops and send them to Betty’s house. Something’s happening over there.” Her mother looked kind of confused, but nodded and did what her daughter had told her to do. While listening to her mother saying something like sending a police officer over, she grabbed the keys to the car and rushed outside. She did everything right now without thinking basically.
She could only imagine the worst things in her head that could’ve happened when she drummed on the steering wheel, traffic lights passing by. |

I'm just gonna post this before I leave the computer.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Her mind was all over the place. Green Day was playing loud in the car stereo, telling her all the nasty words there was and ‘I hate you’ over and over again. All she felt was rage. The possibility was big that the police was going to get there before her, but she couldn’t care less. The music switched to a little more suicidal. f**k that, she thought. Finally she could see the silhouettes of Betty’s dad’s house. No police cars outside and all the lights were out. Gwen stopped the car and took the keys. For a few seconds she just breathed, not to get some kind of panic attack.
To her relief, the police arrived merely minutes after her. She had already gotten out of the car to walk to the front door.
“Just wait a minute, miss, won’t you let us handle this matter,” the officer said, almost talking to Gwen as if she was a five-year-old. She was literally snorting from rage right now. He walked up to her, and she realized he didn’t want to make her angry in any way. She calmed herself down quickly.
“I’d rather follow you to the do-.”
“Please, we just wanna do our job.”
“And I just wanna make sure my friend is alright.” Even if he wanted to hold her back, he really hadn’t got the time to argue with her. She just followed him and his partner to the door and rang the bell. At first there was no respond, nothing moving. They rang again. Something was happening in there. Gwen was standing and stamping on the same spot. At last the door was swung open and she saw Betty’s dad standing in the doorway, looking nothing like charming.
“We had some disturbance reported about this address, sir, have you been drinking?”
“Well, mhy drrringking ish my oown bus’ness,” she said, slurring like mad.
“Sir, have you got kids in the house? Are you putting them to any harm?”
“Sche’r at her mama’s plashe.”
“That’s a fucking lie!” Gwen shrieked and was good on her way to punch him in the face.
“Who would you say that?” the officer asked her. She had no interest in answering. She didn’t care at all. All she did was slipping past the drunken man and rushed toward Betty’s room. She pushed the door open and looked around.
“Betty! Where are you?” The room looked empty, but yet, it was dark like the night in there. She cursed to herself when she realized that the light wasn’t actually working. “Come to me, sweetheart, I’m gonna get you out.”
“Are you sure?” she heard a whimpering voice say from behind a door. Carefully she pushed it aside and saw Betty sitting on the floor, mascara and eyeliner running down her cheeks. She could discern some sorts of bruises on her pale skin.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” she whispered and sunk down beside her beaten friend, “he did that to you?”
“Mhm, I told you it never turns out this bad when he drinks.” She looked so small, almost like a little baby.
“You wanna get out of here? You wanna go home to me?” Betty only nodded. She wasn’t the type of girl who would want to go to the hospital unless it was extremely necessary. As a helping hand, Gwen supported Betty to get up on her own feet. When they got to the outer door, Gwen saw the police officers doing some sort of test to see if he was drunk or not. You didn’t have to be an expert that he was totally disabled. When they saw Gwen with Betty almost hanging from her shoulder, they both looked shocked.
“Sir, you’re gonna have to come down with us to the police station.”
“Wchyy ar yo schaying that?”
“Don’t take us for stupid asses, you should know what you’ve done, and now you’re gonna come with us.”
Betty’s dad was a big man, or at least he looked like a bull. Though he wasn’t putting up a fight, he was making it a little bit hard for the two cops to get him to follow them to the car. Gwen just held onto Betty’s arm and led her to her mother’s car. When they both had gotten into it Gwen looked at Betty.
“You can stay with us as long as you want to, or, as a matter of fact, I’m gonna force you to stay with us.” Betty couldn’t say much at first, she was pretty much speechless.
“Thank you,” she whispered at last.
“Believe it or not, you’re gonna do something like this for me someday too.”
“Don’t put it that way, please, it sounds so depressive.”
“Your dad must think I’m some sort of idiot or something.”
“What did he say?”
“He said that you were at your mom’s.”
“Well, that would be awkward, since the fact that she died when I barely could reach to Michael Jordan’s kneecaps.”
“I thought so too.”
“Anyhow, do you think your mom will approve me staying with you?”
“If you’ve ever met my mother once in your life, you know she would open her house to every homeless kitten in the neighbourhood if she could, and since you’re not a kitten, I think there’ll be no problems at all.”
“When you put it that weird way.”
“You don’t need anything from the house?”
“I don’t wanna put another foot there right now. I’ll go back tomorrow or something. I think he’s going to stay at the station a very long time for now.”
“Great, now, let’s go home to me, so I can fill the bathtub with hot water for you to relax in.”
“It sounds amazing.”
“Oh, guess what, it is amazing.” |

I think I always update when I see you online, crazy diamond
but that's probably because I think you're the only one reading the whole shit ^^ I love you <3
__________________________________________________________________________________
Betty wouldn't go to school the next day, or the next. She just stayed in Gwen's house, in Gwen's bed and read old Kerrang and NME, and played Manic Street Preachers loudly in the stereo to make time fly by. Gwen left her, but only for a few hours every day. She went to school only to find out what they had to do for next lesson.
So many had come and visited Betty during those two days. Brendon skipped his band practices to come over and discuss articles from NME and brag about how one day, his band was going to be on the cover. Betty found it none-likely. Sammy and Everlyn had, unfortunately according to Betty, skipped classes as well, to check in how she was doing. Ahlyssa and Elliot had bought a big, big bag of licorice, just because they knew how much she loved it, and Ahlyssa had forced Elliot to download all the existing seasons of 'Oz' for Betty to watch. The last duo to come by was Jolene and Lily. They always seemed to come in pairs.
Thursday evening they all seemed to have timed a visit pretty well. Brendon was camping beside Betty on the bed, laying on his stomach and going through a NME-magazine with weary eyes. He had Gwen sitting astride on his back, leaning on his shoulder to also read the magazine with weary eyes. Sammy had taken immediate control over the situation and was now sitting inbetween Jolene's legs, leaning toward her, which Jolene had nothing against. The brown-haired girl threw Gwen glances all the time. Elliot was up on the floor, doing some weird dance, and Ahlyssa only sighed, hiding behind Lily because of the shame. Sadly, Everlyn wasn't in the room, but she had proper reasons not to be.
"Hey Betty, are you going to school tomorrow?" Ahlyssa asked, eager to find out some way to make Elliot stop dancing.
"It looks like that right now. I can't stay in this bed forever, and I'm already too far behind. Plus, I think I'm eating Gwen and her mom out of the house."
"Don't worry, you would never do that," Gwen said without looking up from the magazine. Betty rolled her eyes and snatched her shoulders.
"Ey Betty," Elliot said and suddenly stopped dancing around, "there's a new kid at school. He's your age, but in our year. We thought about bringing him into the gang or something."
"Well, new people are always fun," Betty said.
"Y'know Betty, he's reeeeally fine, if you know what I'm saying," Sammy said and winked her eye.
"Is that suppose to mean something?"
"Don't take my hint then." Sammy took Jolene's arms and twirled them around her, and Jolene still looked pretty pleased.
"You guys are weird," Brendon said, out of nothing, probably boredom. Gwen elbowed him in the side lightly and he turned the page over. Everyone seemed to be getting the same headache. Finally Sammy stood up, leaving Jolene just a little bit disappointed.
"It's late, and it takes three hours for me to go to sleep, so I'm gonna go now."
"I'll follow you home," Jolene quickly said. Gwen smirked a little but nodded. It would be kinda nice to get the people out of the house, though she wouldn't force them.
"Should we...?" Ahlyssa said and looked at Elliot, who also nodded. "Lily, you'll sleep at my place tonight?"
"Yes, I think so, this time. Sleeping at your place lets me wake up thirty minutes later than usual, so that I like," Lily said, smiling like only Lily could.
Twenty minutes later the room had been emptied. Left were only Betty, Gwen and Brendon. Gwen had rolled off of Brendon and was laying on her back beside him. Betty sat like a tailor would, searching through a Kerrang-magazine with Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins on the cover.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you; I'm the lead singer of the band now," Brendon said.
"Woah, f**k you for forgetting that. How'd'ya raise in status?" Betty said and tossed the Kerrang on him, not hard enough to hurt him, badly.
"They've obviously heard me sing a few times now, and for some reason they thought I was fit for it."
"Now you're definitely gonna have lots of screaming girls at your feet all the time, including me," Gwen said and giggled.
"And yeah, we might have contact with that guy from Fall Out Boy, y'know Pete Wen-."
"Are you fucking serious?" Betty said, her jaw literally dropped. "How the f**k did you manage that?"
"I don't know. Ryan's the one who's dealing with it. I think it was though livejournal dot com, and he might be interested in our kind of music."
"Has he heard any?"
"Ryan's gonna send a demo when we're done with it, soon enough."
"Could this result in, like, you getting signed or something?" Gwen asked.
"I haven't really thought about it. Shit, what if it happened? We haven't even played a real live-show yet. No, I don't think he's going to think we're ready for it."
"Don't be all negative when you know that it's me who are supposed to play that part. I just hope it's the real guy, for your sake," Gwen said and ruffled his hair slightly. Brendon smiled and asked if Betty could pass him his glasses that lay on the table beside her.
"I'm gonna go home now, so you guys can have some sleep." He gave Gwen a quick hug, like sideways, and then crawled up to Betty to pat her on the head. "Sleep well, bitches."
"Brendon!" Betty said, pretty shocked by the choice of word.
"Yeah yeah, just because I'm the Mormon-boy, give me the break I deserve." He got up, but before he left he bent down to Gwen and gave her a quick kiss on her cheek. Betty bit her nails, not to say something about the situation. Brendon gave them a little wave and then left the room.
"Oh, give me a fucking break," she shrieked when she heard the outer door close. Gwen ignored her fully. "You can't say there's nothing going on, girl."
"Of course I can," Gwen said and rolled over to her stomach.
"Nu-huh, you can't."
"Sammy's already on me about that. You're not gonna chance anything either."
"But admit there's something?"
"Of course there's something. It's just not meant to be that way. You'll understand in like seven years or so." |

helloooo, I'm bobobobobored. here 'ya go phone conversation between betty and gwen.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
"Sammy was fucking right for once!" Betty shrieked through the telephone, and Gwen had to hold it a few inches from her ear. Gwen thought it was kinda dull to find her bed empty after school Friday afternoon, since Betty actually had managed to get up this morning. For some reason she was at their friend Jeremy's place, probably for studying.
"Sammy's often right, y'know, you just never catch it. What was she right about now?"
"That random new guy at my school, you know the guy Elliot talked about? However, Elliot introduced me to him, and do you know what his name is?"
"Yup."
"Just let me have this moment."
"Alright, what is his name?"
"Jacoby, just as the singer in Papa Roach. Isn't that hot or what?"
"That's pretty hawt, my friend. Are you gonna go for it?"
"You know what? He was so damn fine I almost went speechless, and he gave me compliment during those ten minutes we talked."
"What was the compliment about?"
"He said I had an awesome smile, a killer-smile even. How cute isn't that on a scale?"
"Diabetes-alert honey. So it seemed you guys got along pretty well?"
"I think so too. He's so in our gang now."
"And in a matter of time, there's going to be another couple in the group." Betty couldn't help noticing the hint of sadness in Gwen's voice when she uttered those words.
"Sweetheart? Is there something you wanna talk about?"
"I don't know. It's just like, there's Elliot and Ahlyssa, Everlyn's got her boyfriend, it's a matter of time until Sammy's official with Jolene, and you might get involved with Jacoby, most likely. Everything has happened the last month, it's just a lot to melt when I realize I'm probably never gonna find someone."
"I see how it must be bugging you, but believe me, I can't really find it possible that someone haven't purposed to you yet, truly. And just because something might happen with me and Jacoby, that doesn't mean that you'll be number two for me. You'll always be my number one, and I would so sleep with you if you weren't straight as a rock."
"Aw, thanks. And I can't help knowing that Brendon's going to find someone soon as well. He's growing up so fast."
"But how would that make you feel? I mean, you're pretty close."
"It's not like I can stop him from having a relationship with some chick I don't know. I'm just gonna make sure she's reasonable. but I'll admit it; it would bring me down a little."
"Gwen."
"Okay, okay, it would bring me down so fucking hard, are you happy?"
"I could never be happy about that. Just remember that when it happens, it's you, me and a bucket of ice-cream. But you could go after him yourself."
"That's just so wrong."
"Explain to me, because as I see it, you guys are a match made in heaven."
"I don't know. It's like, I don't wanna do anything because I don't wanna ruin it all. I don't wanna lose the things we have together. Can we just drop this?"
"Alright, but just remember the ice-cream, if the day comes. I've got a fucking mountain of homework to do so I should better get started. Doesn't look like a weekend for me after all. Call me if you need something, okay? After these days, it's the least thing I can do."
"Don't mention it. You'll stay at Jeremy's all weekend?"
"Yep, he's gonna be my study-buddie, and I'm gonna torture him all weekend long."
"I don't think he'll mind that actually."
"Me neither, but I'll catch up with you later, alright?"
"Yeah, but kisses, babe."
"You can even come by if you want to, or if you're bored. Love you. Bye."
Gwen dropped the telephone on the floor and lay herself on the bed, staring up at the ceiling, feeling anything but whole. |

well, I know that most people would want gwen to hook up with brendon, but, that's really not gonna happen, until youknowwhen, but I like to tease'em , and I really have nothing against writing the story that way.
I'll just warn that next chapter is going to be a liiittle emo, or kinda very emo. since gwen is basically me, I had to write some personal stuff off of my back, and it worked awesome as therapy. |
